I am a 1st-grade teacher in a low income/high poverty school district. My students overcome challenges on a daily basis in and outside of the classroom. They work hard each day and do their best to succeed. My classroom is filled with positivity, creativity, and laughter.
My students teach me how to overcome adversity and hardship each day.
They are learning the skills they will need to help them succeed in their educational journey. Together as a classroom family, we teach each other how to be kind, thoughtful, determined, and hardworking individuals. Due to the Covid-19 virus, my classroom is going to look different this year. My students will need extra resources to learn and stay safe.
My Project
Many of my students are learning at home in environments less than ideal. Parents are doing the best they can to provide their children with a quiet place to learn. Imagine you are six years old in front of a small phone screen trying to learn how to read. They have to focus through crying babies, dogs barking and their siblings virtual school.
Please help my first graders cut out all the noise at home and focus on learning.
The funds you donate will be used to provide the students in need with headphones. Wearing headphones will make my voice louder and help to cancel out the extra noise at home. This way they can hear what they need to succeed!
