This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Paint, Glue and Fun! "Teacher I need a glue stick," "I can't color the page, I don't have a brown crayon." How do I teach my students to the fullest with very limited supplies and without me running to the educational store weekly? With your help, we can achieve success.
My Transitional and Regular Kindergarteners are hard working, fun, creative, brilliant students who try so hard to do so well.
My students are English language learners and socioeconomically disadvantaged. This school is a 100% free lunch school. The children are growing up in hard times. The standards of education are so much higher than when we were in school, and yet their opportunities are more limited than ours.
Parents in our neighborhood want the best for their children, as do the teachers. They want their children to enjoy school and continue onto college and careers. However, due to the budget cuts, the children are getting a great education, but they are not getting the supplies, technology, manipulatives and hands-on experiences they need. As a teacher I spend a good amount of my little paycheck each month to help my students have great experiences and memories. The children need supplies, materials and more to help across the curriculum
My Project
If we need test prep materials, they are available. I was able to use a few of the Lakeshore Craft Kits with my students last year and they are very enjoyable. Each craft was different, unique and fun. The children were so proud of their crafts and they were age appropriate. I am hoping this year to restock the art material and offer more crafts to the children. I am asking for a variety of types of Air Dry clay, so I can teach my little students basic ceramic skills. I am also asking for some collage art kits that relate to our science and ESL topics. These materials will help create life long memories.
I am asking for important, fun, creative art materials.
I would like to get some Model Magic Clay, Model Magic Air Clay, containers of Dough to help the children create ceramics. I am also asking for a variety of Craft kits that are based on a variety of Transitional and Kindergarten themes.
