Building relationships with my students is by far the best part of teaching. It allows me to learn more about their strengths, challenges, hopes, and dreams.
I teach children who are inquisitive, eager to learn, and want to make a difference in the world.
They have learned that they don't have to wait until they are older to make a difference. They know that all they need is an idea they are passionate about and a plan to carry it out.
In our classroom, my students refer to themselves as "changemakers." My students are learning that their voice matters. Through our presentation literacy curriculum, my students are writing and presenting TedTalks in our classroom!
My Project
I love decorating my classroom so it is a place where students love to spend time, be inspired, and learn new things! Everything in my classroom is placed there with a specific purpose and goal in mind.
Having a Cricut in the classroom would allow me to create bulletin boards and sayings that will inspire my students to reach their goals.
For example, an important part of my class curriculum is Presentation Literacy. Presentation Literacy gives my students the opportunity to share a big idea they feel passionate about. In order to provide them with a special platform for this activity, my husband built a small stage for my students! They were so excited when they arrived at school one morning to see the stage in front of our classroom. I would like to add the words "Your voice matters" to the front of the stage. A Cricut would allow me to add these words, which would make our stage even more spectacular than it already is! This is just one way I would use a Cricut in our classroom.
My students and I would be forever grateful if you could help us reach this goal!
