My Students
I wish you could meet my young students. They range in age from three to six years old and are all identified with special needs. If you were to visit my class, you'd see kids who love to come to school and enjoy learning new things.
My little students come to their first school experience with a variety of abilities, needs, experiences, and interests. The students in my class may have Down Syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, or other special challenges, but they are first and last, children. They have the same energy, joy, curiosity, interests, and desires as their typically-developing peers.
My Project
There's a saying in my field, "If you've met one child with autism, you've met one child with autism." Each child will be affected differently and require different interventions.
As a teacher, I strive to find ways to create materials addressing each child's particular needs. This project will help me create color coded materials such as visual schedules, reward charts, first/then boards, and any number of items I haven't even imagined yet! I thrive on figuring out the best way to meet each child's individual needs, and I'm so thankful when I have the materials on hand to create what is needed. Thank you for considering my little project.
