This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Although many teachers no longer teach their students how to write in cursive, I still do. I believe teaching students to write in cursive helps them further develop fine-motor skills while allowing them to work on penmanship. Studies have also shown that writing in cursive boosts comprehension skills. Cursive practice also gives students a moment to quietly practice writing letters that will later be used when they learn to write their names as signatures. I also want my students to be able to read cursive. To help with this, they need cursive practice, and these workbooks are perfect for that. Finally, to give them even more practice, the dry-erase markers will be used for modeling on the board and on their dry-erase boards.
