it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Welcome to our class! The students at our school are creative, bright, fun, feisty, trailblazers. While they are full of potential, life sometimes gets in the way. Our students deal with unimaginable obstacles. Purchasing supplies, completing assignments, finding transportation and even getting dressed in the morning causes our 14 to 17 year-olds unnecessary stress.
Students are truly interested in the world around them, but need content that engages them.
I am here to help. Sometimes all they need is a little bit of support from the teachers and the community.
My Project
Help my students access reliable current events resources they can count on every week. The research guides will be used for their monthly papers, while also giving student an opportunity to practice using academic tools.
Currently our class explores current events with help from me, but the goal is to engage them in independent research.
This will help my students to engage in the world around them, with weekly subscriptions to Time and National Geographic. The individual subscription will allow students to hold onto to the subscriptions annotate and close read them on their own. As final projects student will need to write a thesis on the US and World today. These resource will help them in the final project.
