it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Having 20 student digital and paper subscriptions to Scholastic Upfront Magazine (from the New York Times) in our Social Studies classroom helps spark our students' interest in current events in the world around them!
Upfront Magazine empowers our students to think critically about today's most important news stories.
The magazine supports core Social Studies and ELA standards at both the state and national levels with its articles that get students thinking about today's news and its relevance to them. Upfront also comes with integrated print and online resources (Lesson Plans, Skills Sheets, Quizzes, and Standard Alignments along with comprehensive digital resources). The subscription offers videos, articles to read, and in class differentiation with instruction at different reading levels. Upfront Magazine engages our students with a high-interest magazine that has articles that they look forward to and actually want to read. Upfront Magazine helps our students become conversant in issues of national and international importance. Upfront Magazine helps our students become knowledgeable and informed!
