This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our 5th graders are at a pivotal stage in their education where they’re ready to connect classroom learning with the world around them. Scholastic News magazines offer timely, engaging, and age-appropriate articles that make current events accessible and exciting. These resources not only foster a genuine curiosity about the world but also build essential literacy skills such as reading comprehension, vocabulary development, and critical thinking.
By providing Scholastic News magazines, we equip every student with the tools to explore diverse subjects, from science and history to culture and technology, in a format that’s both educational and fun!
These magazines encourage classroom discussions, inspire questions, and support standards-based learning, making them a cornerstone of our literacy program.
Many of our students come from communities where access to up-to-date informational texts is limited. Without these resources, they miss out on vital opportunities to engage with nonfiction reading, understand complex topics, and develop the skills needed to become informed, active citizens.
Your support will ensure that all 5th graders in our school have equal access to this powerful learning tool, helping to close the resource gap and prepare them for academic success now and in the future. Together, we can nurture a generation of curious kids who are ready to read, learn, and lead.
