Current Curriculum and Literacy Choices in the Library
Help me give my students the latest books to ensure the library has current materials to entice my students to read and also fund resources for virtual learning and lessons in the library setting.
My students are resilient and eager to learn and read. They put their heart into their work and love their school. They are a diverse group of learners from a variety of ethnic backgrounds. 100% of the school population qualifies for free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch. Students range from Pre-K to 5th grade and require materials with varying reading and interest levels. They want to engage and have a love of literacy.
My Project
It is so important to have the latest books and curriculum available for students in the library. This helps entice readers to continue reading their favorite literature and allows students to read current and relevant stories.
The primary purpose of the elementary library is to select and provide material that allows students the freedom to explore, create, investigate, educate, entertain and enlighten themselves through a variety of material and resources that reflect the diversity of the school and nation.
Resources should be available at all levels of difficulty and enrich and support the school curriculum with varying viewpoints.
This project will provide students with some of the latest children's books to hit the shelves as well as curriculum that supports the library standards.
