My students need comfortable, flexible seating to use while reading books of their choosing. Seating includes comfy floor seats, Calming Color pillows, and bean bags to help students relax enough to fully engage with their books!
My class consists of 25 students living in a rural community. My students have diverse backgrounds including homeless to affluent.
Students in my class include diverse language and cultural homes.
I have approximately 30% of students in my class who come from families that are English as second language families. Because I have diverse language learners, I am hoping to build community through a love of sharing books with one another.
My students are happy, busy learners who thrive when given opportunities to have hands-on learning experiments.
My Project
The materials I am requesting will help to provide opportunities to move around the classroom and sit comfortably with a good book. I see children getting lost in a book when they are able to relax and sit somewhere other than their desk.
Specific items children will use to sit on including Calming Colors Pillows, Flex-Space Comfy floor seats, and a Calming Colors Big Beanbag Seat.
I love watching my students settle in to read with a comfy pillow or bean bag!
