My Students

I have a class full of the most amazing, eager, curious, and loving first graders who are building a love of books and reading. They have also spent the past month building a love for school, learning, and their peers. My students are learning in a Title I school where all members work diligently to ensure their success. Can one ever have too many books or too many comfy and cozy places to read? My students and I think not!

My Project

Reading and flexible seating, open up a whole other world for children. My students have spent the past month, gaining a love for books and reading. Each one of my students have their own book box that holds the books they have chosen to read to themselves and to their partners during the week. When reading, my students enjoy having the opportunity to sit in different areas of the room where they feel most focused and relaxed. I have seen first hand the power of choice, so I am asking for books and cozy places where my students can curl up to read.
