This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Most of my students do not have access to many literacy resources in their homes. School is the only place they can get books for comprehension practice. Reading is such an important key to success! I want them to love reading. What better way than to make it cozy and fun!

These children are a very sweet and likable group of kids.

They are attending a Title I school and have limited resources. They come from a low socioeconomic background where there are little to no literacy resources. These kids need reading to become great readers!

My Project

A cozy reading spot is just what my students need to help encourage their love of reading! A soft comfortable couch will give our classroom a warm and inviting feel for them to curl up with a good book and get lost in the world of reading! They can also use the couch to read with a partner.

A new couch for our classroom will make my students look forward to independent reading time and hopefully spring them into becoming great readers!
