Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
They wonder about everything! Every topic generates discussions about their personal experiences or questions upon questions. This group of 2nd grade scholars love to learn. Our class celebrates questioners, as well as those who know how to find the answer! In our classroom, student agency is at the forefront, from choosing where to sit, to how they want to demonstrate their learning.
Active, highly social, have a strong sense of wonder about everything, and enjoy making choices are just some of the ways to describe my 2nd grade SCHOLARS in our Title I school in Southern California.
Eager to learn and share what they know, these 2nd graders are just realizing that there is a world outside their community and desire to be difference makers here and beyond their classroom walls.
My Project
Everything about the world fascinates my 2nd grade scholars. Scholastic News Magazines delivers content in such an engaging and relevant way that students devour them and then can't wait to share what they learn. In addition, the resources provided with each subscription, such as videos, skill sheets, a digital platform, and much more, extend the learning far beyond a student simply reading an article.
Students beg for more Scholastic News magazines to read, debate current events, all the while standards-based content is delivered in all academic areas with this award-winning magazine.
Scholastic News Magazines tackle current events while widening my student's world-view and allow my students the opportunity of seeing how they can make a difference beyond the walls of their classroom.
