My Students

Teaching 2nd grade special education is such rewarding experience every day. My students are learning to read, write, add and subtract. They enter the classroom ready to learn knowing they have a classroom and school that supports their needs and goals.

My Project

As a second grade special education teacher I want to encourage my students to learn about interesting topics. Time for Kids will allow us to read about nonfiction text while working on our reading fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.

Early readers provide the students the opportunity to work on reading fluency and to practice reading at a comfortable pace.

My classroom currently lacks books available to them at “just right” reading levels. This will allow me to provide them with other reading opportunities in our classroom while building a classroom library.
