My Students

My students are imaginative, energetic and love learning. In my classroom, I try to give them everything. That could mean a hug if they're sad, food if they're hungry or just a safe place where they can feel proud of themselves. My students face a lot of struggles on a daily basis and I try to make my classroom a place where they can forget all about that.

Engagement is key to my teaching and learning.

I am always trying to find new ways to engage my students and give them lots of hands-on fun. My students are four to five years old and I love seeing them playing while learning so many new concepts. They are excited to learn and come to school and I want that love to continue for them.

My Project

The scholastic weekly reader will help my students build important social skills and reinforce reading and math skills. This fun, interactive, weekly reader is something that I used to look forward to as an elementary student each week. I want to share that love of learning and excitement with my students this year.

There are so many topics covered in the scholastic weekly reader that are important to the growth of a kindergarten student.

Whether it is how to treat each other or how to take ownership of your own work, these are skills that need to be reinforced for all my students. The scholastic weekly reader is an opportunity for me to teach my students a variety of skills in one booklet!
