Our public elementary school offers a unique IB STEAM Program. Being able to offer this trans-disciplinary, project based experience to such a diverse population of students is truly essential to creating a more diverse workforce in our future. Being a public school, it is difficult to find funding to maintain the technology that teachers have been so excited to integrate into our projects. We need support to bring these amazing tools to our youngest learners.
BeeBots and Botley Robots are engaging, interactive coding tools that help students develop a basic understating of robot communication in a fun way.
We use the robots to not only teach coding itself, but to reinforce a variety of content in other subjects as well. For example, students can program the robots to go to target sight words, match predator and prey, sequence a story or complete math equations as they travel across a versatile work mat.
We would love to use these robots during literacy centers, STEAM rotations and for integration into special projects. Our teachers are motivated and knowledgeable about how to use these tools, we just need the funding and resources to keep a functioning set available to our students. Your support is greatly appreciated and will make a big impact by funding this project. Thank you!
