My Project

Learning about culture and diversity is essential in teaching respect for everyone. There is a mix of students from different backgrounds, cultures, and religions in my class and in our community. It is my goal to promote an understanding of our differences and respect for what makes us each unique and special.

The items requested will be used to make maracas when learning about Hispanic Heritage Month, diyas for Diwali, menorahs for Hanukkah, lanterns for Ramadan, and dragons for Lunar New Year.

We will start the year reading nonfiction books, listening to music specific to the cultures we are studying, reading books, and creating fun projects using the clay.

My goal is to show my students the similarities and differences between us all and foster an appreciation and respect for all
