As you know, the environment we surround ourselves with can greatly influence our mood and mindset. A space that's dark and cluttered can feel heavy, while one that's clean, bright, and colorful can uplift and energize. This bookshelf has done just that—it's transformed the atmosphere and positively impacted my students' outlook.\r\nThe excitement was palpable when the students walked in and saw it for the first time. They rushed to place their bins on the shelves, thrilled to finally have a proper home for their belongings. No more folders and book bags gathering dust on the floor—everything now has a clean, organized space. And thanks to its mobility, the shelf offers easy access to their materials, making daily routines smoother and more efficient.\r\nDuring the final month of school, my students proudly gave incoming first graders a tour of our classroom. One of the first stops? The bookshelf. They couldn't wait to show off where their writing materials are stored and share how the new students would get to use it too.\r\nLast year, I had 18 students. This year, I'll have 23—and thanks to this shelf, each child will have a designated spot for their bin. It's made our classroom not only more functional but also more joyful.\r\nThank you once again for helping us create a space that's bright, welcoming, and full of possibility.","fullyFundedDate":1746787241094,"projectUrl":"project/the-smart-shelf-organizing-our-school-p/9168483/","projectTitle":"The Smart Shelf: Organizing Our School Projects with Style","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Fitzsimmons","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/fitzsimmons"},{"teacherId":1751225,"projectId":8963025,"letterContent":"Thank you so much! This has been an incredibly cold winter! We haven't been outside since the beginning of December. Your gross motor movement toys have helped us on so many days in so many ways. We used the turtles, balance beam, and dome toys in our classroom, in the hallways, and during buddy recess with the big kids. The snail toy and shape sorter are fan favorites during unstructured reinforcer breaks.\r\n\r\nThe students in my program need to move their bodies to be ready to focus on the hard work of learning. These big movement activities help organize multiple sensory systems in their bodies. The green spinner is used daily by students in need of a sensory break to get ready to go back to learning. We are so grateful for all of your support.\r\n\r\nThis was our first time on Donors Choose. Thank you for helping us be successful. Our class enjoys using the toys as do the West End Buddies (fifth graders who support my students throughout the day). The students who earn reinforcer breaks in our classroom love the green spinner.
