My students need a classroom library that reflects them. My students are a culturally diverse group who speak a variety of languages. Though my class is taught in English, these students deserve to see themselves in their classroom and not see their cultures or languages as "other".
My students are a culturally diverse group who speak a variety of languages.
Though my class is taught in English, these students deserve to see themselves in their classroom and not see their cultures or languages as "other". My goal is to represent authors of color, main characters of color and various languages in my classroom library as often or more so than English dominant materials. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will go towards activities, lessons, and games that follow my students identities, passions, and needs.
