This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our PreK students show full of excitement when it’s story time. They are very attentive and learning different story elements. It’s delightful to see and hear when they “turn & talk” after story time. I am very impressed how they can recall details in different stories. They like picture reading and share their observations with one another. Our students fill each other’s buckets by taking turns in talking and listening to one another. We are very happy to share that as young as they are, they appreciate reading and conversation.
My Project
By donating to our project, you are helping us create a culturally responsive library to our youngest learners (3k’s & Pre K’s). We will use literature to develop family projects in which students explore their cultural background. We want our library collection to be rich in books that promote theme of diversity and community. Print rich classroom is beneficial to our visual learners and displaying books that promote theme in diversity and community is valuable. Our students will have easy access to culturally responsive literature that reflects identities of many.
