Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My mission every year is to teach knowledge and skills, nurture confidence and character, and inspire the passion needed for students to achieve their goals, excel in the competitive world, and positively impact the community. My elementary students work hard and are eager to learn. They come from our diverse community, with over 75% qualifying for free or reduced price lunch.
As 100% of my students are children of color, I feel responsible to provide equitable opportunities to them to ensure that they have access to all the resources they need to reach their full potentials.
I have witnessed the challenges of distance learning for my students during the COVID-19 pandemic, and I want to ensure that they have equal access to the resources they need at home in order to continue their growth during this year.
My Project
This holiday season, would you consider helping to fund some of these resources for our classroom?
-A color printer: so that we can print out our digital projects in color and "publish" our work in a way that students can be proud of!
-Cushions: so that we can continue to build our classroom's "flexible seating" arrangements. Sometimes, when students meet in literature circles or small groups, it's nice to have cushions to sit on!
-Culturally-relevant texts: We still need more books that reflect the students' experiences and cultures, while also expanding their worldview!
-A Teachers Pay Teachers gift card: So that I can continue to purchase top-quality and relevant resources for students to master math, reading, social studies, and science content and skills.
