The children are able to lift and close the box on their own. My students loved it! They found the space a soothing retreat, allowing them to relax and recharge. It has truly made a positive impact on their well-being. When my students first saw the calming center, their excitement was unbelievable. Their broad smiles and sparkling eyes reflected their eagerness to explore this new space. In their enthusiasm, one adventurous student gave it a trial run. Without hesitation, he nestled into the cozy interior and, to my surprise, quickly drifted off to sleep entirely in the soothing atmosphere. \r\n\r\nIn the next phase of my current project, I will focus on educating my class about the purpose of a calming center. This space is designed to help individuals relax and regain their composure rather than being a place intended for sleeping. We have so enjoyed reading about Bear and Pig and enjoying shared experiences on our new pillows and chairs. The children have enjoyed laughing together as we share in the silly antics of Pig the Pug. The inclusion of the little Pig stuffed toy, has only enhanced their enjoyment as they read to him. \r\n\r\nThe Bear series picture books help the children learn and understand concepts in silly and fun rhymes. Bear and his friends experience concepts such as patience, waiting, being sick, and feeling scared. The Bear books also help tie in other concepts such as hibernation and letters. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for helping my students through books!
