This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students did a fantastic job this semester and I know they will do well when we start the second semester. They love our classroom library and enjoy picking out books to read for leisure.
I want to include culturally relevant books to add to our library.
We will be celebrating Lunar New Year at the end of January as well as Black History Month in February. Having culturally relevant books is important because they allow readers to see themselves reflected in stories, boosting self-esteem and fostering a sense of belonging.
In January we will celebrate the Lunar New Year with books like How to Catch a Dragon and in February, Black History Month. Books such as I am Enough and The ABCs of Black History will promote unity and share information about our world.
The plant stand will be used to elevate the many plants we have.
