My Students
My students are amazing children from various cultural backgrounds. My students come from all over the world and would benefit from materials that can increase their knowledge and understanding of the world around them. We are needing materials to enhance their learning to help close the achievement gap. The majority of my students cannot relate to the material provided by the district curriculum. We are in need of diverse literature that students can see themselves in. My goal is provide a large amount of diverse literature that my students can relate to in their lives. This will enhance their learning of the content being taught!
My Project
My classroom is full of students from various economic and culturally diverse backgrounds. My students would greatly benefit from science literature that matches their wonderful backgrounds. Some of the books I chose were "Me...Jane" and "A Passion for Elephants: The Real Life Adventure of a Field Scientist".
This literature will enhance my students understanding of science content and the various contributions that have been made from all over the world! My students will use the books to build their background knowledge of the science content being taught! Students will learn about women in science and engineering, along with others from all over the world!
