My Project
In our classroom, we believe every student deserves tools that not only support their academic success but also affirm their identity and promote equity. I’m seeking support to provide student planners that celebrate racial diversity, feature empowering quotes from leaders of color, and include culturally responsive reflection prompts.
These planners go beyond just helping students organize their assignments—they are a daily reminder that their culture, voice, and experience matter.
Representation in educational materials plays a crucial role in building self-esteem and engagement, particularly for students of color who too often don’t see themselves reflected in traditional school resources.
With your support, these planners will:
Teach essential time management and executive functioning skills.
Promote pride in students’ racial and cultural identities.
Include inclusive artwork and quotes that spark conversations around justice, identity, and belonging.
Provide space for students to set personal and academic goals grounded in their lived experience.
By tying academic tools with racial justice and representation, this project will empower students to take ownership of their learning while fostering a deeper sense of inclusion and belonging in our school community.
