Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Spanish is the only language offered at my school. Students loop around and are taught two years of Spanish. I like to teach students about the language and culture through various projects throughout the school year. Most of my students are on free or reduced lunch. I cannot ask for them to bring in supplies to help with the cost of the classroom projects.
That's why I reach out to donors like you that help inspire student learning in every classroom period.
Items like corn masa will help students learn life skills like make homemade tortillas, along with math skills like measurements. The plastic jars, storage bags, glitter will help us with our slime making lesson (chemical reactions, math skills). The other items like smelly markers, sketching kits, candy will help our vocabulary lessons and will have prizes for winners. All of these items will help students engage easier and faster in the authentic and cultural classroom experiences.
Students will have hands-on experience with these supplies.
They will learn the math in Spanish, they will learn some financial literacy and cost of goods, supplies with a business unit we have in the class.
However, I need your support please help me give every student a valuable learning experience and promote classroom successes.
