My Project

We are working on making cross-disciplinary connections with our social studies classes. Students study about different countries in Africa, so what better way to learn about these countries than through making music! Right now I only have 2 drums, but if I had more, I could keep more students engaged in learning by making music actively.

My students LOVE when we can do songs with percussion parts, and I am excited to have more instruments for them to play so that we can make music together!

The collaboration and teamwork, plus the work on rhythmic accuracy will help make them better musicians, while learning about music from other cultures.
