My goals for this project are ambitious yet vital. I seek to empower and leverage the strengths that students of color bring to my classroom by introducing two key resources: 3D printers and a more comfortable option for flexible seating.
The introduction of 3D printers will be a transformative addition to our educational toolkit.
These devices will enable our students to explore complex concepts in a tangible and interactive way. They'll have the opportunity to turn theoretical knowledge into practical applications, fostering a deep understanding of subjects such as geometry, engineering, space, and biology. This hands-on approach to learning through 3D printing will unlock their creativity, stimulate problem-solving skills, provide them with the tools to prototype and innovate and offer exposure they might not get elsewhere.
The flexible seating I intend to acquire will empower my students' educational experience by offering them choices that best suit their needs to be successful. This will reach more of my students on the spectrum, providing a way of focusing so they can create in-depth research, exploration of new ideas, and the opportunity to delve into subjects that pique their curiosity. By offering them a choice with a lap desk, I aim to encourage independent learning, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning.
