Cultivating Safe and Creative School Counseling Spaces

Help me give my students items to create a warm and welcoming space to support their counseling needs! These items will also help organize the counseling office.

My Project

The items in this project such as an organizer or anger management toys will help provide calm for students who enter the school counseling office when they come to find safe spaces. Items in this project will keep the office organized and allow for counselors to clearly label and itemize student work. These items will also help to contribute to the creative energy of the space by making the space appear warm and welcoming as well as supplies needed to keep the office running smoothly. The hope is that the counseling space will be organized and efficient with the help of this project to meet student wholeness needs. The goals of this project are to have items for students to use that cultivate a warm environment and allow for open dialogue as well as organize the counseling office. Students in Baltimore City Public Schools need to feel a sense of trust before engaging in conversation with others and these items will help build those feelings of trust.
