Our students come from multiple small towns in rural Maine. We have a variety of economic backgrounds with over 70% of our students receiving free or reduced lunch. Our school serves students in grades 7-12 and provides rigorous academics, caring teachers, and a safe learning environment.
Our students are amazing, hardworking, and very creative.
In our small school, students wear many hats in various athletic clubs, school clubs, and leadership groups. These various opportunities create well rounded students who are successful after graduation.
My Project
This greenhouse will the beginning step for cultivating an agricultural program for our students to learn a life long skill of gardening, either as a hobby or as a potential career.
Students will learn how to grow plants from seeds by choosing the right kinds of soils and fertilizers and just the right amount of sunshine and water.
This greenhouse will house plants to be used in school and community gardens. Teaching students sustainability through growing, cultivating, and harvesting plants and crops is beneficial to the environment, as well as, giving students a skill that can be used beyond their school age years and can be passed on for many generations.
