Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Fifth Grade Rocketeers are a diverse group of students who are striving to close the education gap through Literacy, Math, Science, and Social Issues. Forward-thinking Rocketeers aspire to become engineers, scientists, leaders, and doctors. This will be my third year teaching these amazing and motivated students. The students I teach at Rocketship Discovery Prep are unique with various talents and personalities. The students deserve an experience that goes beyond the normal classroom. Donations to this project will help me educate my students beyond just the curriculum.
My Project
Rocketship students are hardworking and efficacious. They read diverse stories from different worlds, time periods, and perspectives. As they read, they gain an understanding of character, setting, conflict, resolution, and theme. Engulfing oneself into the elements of story, students develop the skill s to tell their own imaginative story.
Animation gives students another avenue for self-expression to create their own story.
Animation helps explore and develop ideas to implement them in reality. The animation process fosters students’ positive attitude and creative thinking. They can take advantage of creating an animation about the theory they want to convey as they connect with their audience.
