This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Through the use of wobble chairs, students can learn to see the world through the eyes of another person by experiencing a different way of sitting and engaging with their surroundings. The freedom of movement offered by these chairs allows students to understand the importance of physical comfort and how it can impact one's ability to focus and learn.

By recognizing the benefits of alternative seating, students can develop a sense of empathy towards others who may have different needs or preferences when it comes to their learning environment.

Working towards alleviating suffering in others can be practiced through small acts of kindness and consideration, starting with how students interact with their peers in the classroom. The use of wobble chairs can serve as a tangible reminder to be mindful of others' needs and to offer support where necessary. Students can learn to practice compassion by taking the initiative to help each other adjust their seating or by simply being understanding of different preferences.

Success in students' understanding of compassion can be measured through their ability to demonstrate empathy towards others, both inside and outside the classroom. Observing students engage thoughtfully with their peers, show kindness in their actions, and actively work towards creating a more inclusive and supportive learning environment are indicators of successful development of compassion.

In conclusion, the incorporation of alternative seating such as wobble chairs not only benefits students physically but also provides a unique opportunity to cultivate empathy and compassion.
