My Project

The hydroponic gardening kit and traditional gardening supplies in this project will allow my students to learn science by doing, not just reading. These materials will help them grow plants in both water-based and soil-based systems, compare results, collect data, and see real biological processes in action. Instead of simply memorizing terms like photosynthesis or nutrients, students will observe roots developing, measure plant growth, and understand how environmental factors affect living organisms. These hands-on tools will turn abstract concepts into real, visible learning experiences.

The goal of this project is to deepen students’ understanding of plant biology, ecosystems, and sustainable agriculture while building critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Students will design simple investigations, track growth, analyze results, and make evidence-based conclusions. They will also learn about water conservation and food production, helping them connect classroom science to real-world challenges. This project aims to grow not just plants, but confident, capable young scientists.

My students are curious and eager to learn, especially when lessons are interactive and meaningful. Many thrive when they can explore, experiment, and take ownership of their work. A classroom garden gives them a sense of responsibility and pride as they care for living plants and watch their efforts produce results. For some, this may be their first time growing food or seeing science come to life. With your support, we can provide an experience that empowers them and makes learning unforgettable.
