My Project

We are asking for donations to bring fresh herbs and salad greens right into our kitchen with the AeroGarden Hydroponics system. Our students are passionate about the culinary arts, and this project will not only enhance their learning experience but also promote healthy eating habits and sustainable practices while practicing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math). Students will learn how hydroponics work as they plant, care and harvest various herbs, greens and other plants that they will use in our cooking labs.

The AeroGarden is an innovative hydroponic gardening system that will allow us to grow a variety of herbs and salad greens year-round, regardless of weather or outdoor space limitations.

With its user-friendly design and efficient LED lighting, our students will have the opportunity to observe the entire growth process, from seed to harvest, right before their eyes.

By incorporating fresh, home-grown ingredients into our cooking lessons, we aim to elevate the quality of our dishes and inspire a deeper appreciation for wholesome, flavorful meals. Imagine the joy on our students' faces as they pluck fresh basil for a pesto or snip vibrant kale for a nutrient-packed smoothie!

This project will not only benefit our current culinary arts students but also future generations of aspiring chefs. By instilling the importance of sustainable food practices and hands-on gardening skills, we are nurturing a community of mindful cooks who understand the value of fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Students will also learn how easy and cheap it is to plant and harvest their own vegetables and herbs.
