This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are on a mission to enrich the minds of underserved students of color in Chicago's West Side by providing them with their own copies of Descartes' "Meditations on First Philosophy." This initiative is designed not only to expose them to higher-level reading but also to prepare them for the challenges of college academics.

Descartes’ work prompts readers to question the foundations of knowledge and existence, sparking deep analytical thinking and reflection.

By engaging with such critical texts of the Western canon, our students will not only be equipped to understand these complex theories but also to critique and reinterpret them from their unique perspectives.

Your support will help break down barriers to educational resources that these promising young minds face, giving them the tools to not just participate in but also transform the intellectual dialogues that shape our society.
