My Project
I am writing to request support for an exciting and educational project aimed at broadening the horizons of our cooking students while fostering cultural appreciation through a culinary lens. Our goal is to expand our students' understanding of diverse cultures by exploring traditional cookies from around the world.
Our cooking students are eager to embark on a delicious adventure where they will research and delve into the history, ingredients, and techniques of making cookies from various countries; to facilitate this exploration, we are seeking assistance to acquire essential tools: Pizzelle irons, Belgian Cookie irons, and a collection of cookie scoops to assist students.
Students will each research a country, focusing on cultural significance, agriculture, customs, holidays, and culinary uniqueness. Following their research, each student will create an engaging slideshow presentation to share information about their country with their peers.
After the presentations, students will have the opportunity to put their newfound knowledge into practice. Utilizing the acquired Pizzelle and Belgian Cookie irons, along with the cookie scoops, each group will prepare and bake a batch of their country's traditional cookie. This hands-on experience will allow students to connect with the cultures they've studied and appreciate the significance of these culinary traditions firsthand.
