My Project
My students are learning real-life lessons that will last throughout their lives, and learning to cook healthy is one of them. Student learning has been affected with the Covid shut down, but all of their core subjects, such as science, math, writing, and social studies, are reinforced in this class. First, the science of food is explored daily, such as lessons on osmosis and diffusion. Then, fractions and measurements are constantly in use. Students have to use their language arts skills to create menus and presentations. As for social studies, they create food that teaches and makes connections to their own cultures and to cultures all around the world.
