My Students

My fifth grade students are future scientists, tech innovators, engineers, artists, and mathematicians who are eager to change the world. We are a small university town with a sizable ELL population as well as a Title I assisted school filled with students who are eager to take ownership of their learning and build 21st-century skills.

They are critical thinkers and hands-on learners who are eager to learn about and apply science concepts.

My students are passionate about learning and your donation will make it possible for them to solve real-world problems through critical thinking and design processes..

My Project

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, but what STEM education focuses on is much more than these subjects. The focus of STEM education is how these subjects relate to each other and how they can be used to solve real-world problems.

STEM encourages kids to develop skills in the core disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

This amazing robot will help students practice critical thinking skills and engineering principles through play. Coding, engineering, energy transfer, and many more skills don't seem as daunting when practiced with Cue.

As a part of our science standards that focus on how humans impact the earth, students will engineer and test Cue driven designs to clean up ocean and beach environments and plan transportation systems that will help reduce pollution.

Students will test cause and effect relationships and code story maps that practice sequence, problem and resolution, and character interactions.

Students will graph Cue speed, forces exerted, and calculate percentages based on data collected through our experiments.

Lessons like the ones listed above will provide my students with opportunities to cooperate, synthesize data, and learn skills that will last a lifetime.
