Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students not only come from a low income area, but they are also working to learn the English language. Despite all the hardships they have outside of school, they come to school ready to learn.
I teach at a Title I school, where 88% of our students receive free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch.
We provide Blessings in a Backpack, where students can take a bag of food home on the weekends.
Regardless of their circumstances, my students walk into my classroom with smiles on their faces. They are so eager to learn. They deserve the materials that will help to push them to reach their full potential.
My Project
This year I am switching to tables (to implement flexible seating) and the students will need a place to keep materials. I want to give them organization that will provide their basic tools to be productive when working at their work space.
I need a way to organize each table so my students have everything they need at hand.
Last year my students got materials at a designated area and it was chaotic at times. By moving the supplies to each table would take away this chaos. In addition, it would save time from having them get up to get basic materials throughout the day.
