My Project

Requesting the Databot for our CubeSat project will make a significant impact on students' learning by allowing them to collect and analyze real-time environmental data during a high-altitude balloon launch. The Databot’s ability to measure variables such as temperature, pressure, altitude, and acceleration in the stratosphere will provide students with authentic data to interpret. This hands-on experience will deepen their understanding of the principles of atmospheric science, physics, and data analysis. By working directly with the Databot, students will enhance their skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry, making the abstract concepts they learn in class tangible and relevant.

The primary goals for this project are to immerse students in a comprehensive STEM experience that integrates principles of aerospace engineering, data science, and environmental analysis.

Students will design and launch a CubeSat equipped with a Databot to gather scientific data from the stratosphere. Throughout the project, they will learn how to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical context, from designing and 3D printing their CubeSats to analyzing the data collected during the flight. Additionally, this project aims to foster collaboration, creativity, and resilience as students work together to solve complex challenges and iterate on their designs.

What makes my students special is their boundless curiosity and enthusiasm for hands-on learning. They are deeply motivated by the opportunity to explore real-world applications of STEM concepts, especially in innovative fields like aerospace engineering. Many of them come from diverse backgrounds and have unique perspectives that enrich our classroom environment. Despite the challenges they face, they consistently demonstrate a willingness to tackle difficult problems, experiment with new ideas, and support one another in their learning journeys. Their passion for discovery and their commitment to excellence make them not just exceptional students, but future leaders in science and technology.
