This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I'd like to provide cubby storage for my students! The cubbies in my classroom have fallen apart. They were over 30 years old and the wood was completely rotted. This now means that there is no storage for my student backpacks, coats, and lunch boxes. We've managed to find some creative solutions for storage in various places, but new cubbies would help tremendously.
Cubby storage would allow my students a space to store their personal items providing organization to their learning space.
It will also prevent the sharing of supplies, and thus help limit the spread of Covid-19 in the classroom, by giving them a place to store them separately.
This project will help students have a more organized and efficient learning space. It can also train them to be responsible by remembering to grab their supplies each morning for their group and to follow clean-up procedures in the classroom. In summary, it will help keep them safe, and organized and learn to be responsible for their own materials and supplies for groups.
