This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The Arts & AV Lab project seeks funding to address the critical needs of our severely underserved school, where our current arts and audio-visual lab is devoid of any equipment. As a result, our students are deprived of real-world experiences that are essential for their growth in media and technology. The lack of cameras, lighting, backdrops, and other vital equipment makes it nearly impossible for them to engage in hands-on learning or produce quality work that reflects their creativity and skills.
We need a drawing tablet, keyboard and photography index cards.
In addition to the urgent need for audio-visual resources, our classroom is starkly lacking in basic supplies necessary for a comprehensive educational experience. Essential items like construction paper, scissors, glue, and paint for art projects are nonexistent, leaving our students without the materials needed to express themselves creatively. Currently, the only resources available are half-functioning computers, which do not meet the demands of our curriculum.
This dire situation significantly hampers our students' ability to explore their interests and develop the skills that are increasingly vital in today’s job market. By securing the donations for this project, we aim to transform our learning environment, providing both the audio-visual equipment and basic classroom necessities that will empower our students. With these resources, they will not only gain valuable technical skills but also the opportunity to engage in meaningful projects, enhancing their confidence and creativity. This investment is essential for leveling the playing field and ensuring that all students have the opportunity to thrive.
