This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is a self-contained 4th-grade classroom. Which consists of a small group of 4th graders who require one to one instruction. My students require many accommodations and a variety of different learning modules.
We are a Title I school located in a low-income community.
Many of my students don't have the most basic school supplies. Every single one of my students has a strong desire to learn and succeed. Every day, I work hard to maximize their learning environment. My paraprofessionals and I work together in creating a positive learning community focused on helping each child reach their potential and help them to work hard and achieve their goals.
This school year, I would like to focus on providing my students with whatever would make their remote learning experience easier. Remote teaching/learning has been challenging to say the least! Especially when my students require accommodations. During this remote learning time, I would like to make things visually easier for my students, by using a document camera.
My Project
During this time of remote teaching, I have realized how hard it is to provide students with "live" examples. Many times I'd use programs that I felt were engaging but with technical difficulties, it wasn't as smooth of a process as I'd hoped! "Writing" examples with a mouse is a lot harder then you'd think!
A document camera will allow me to provide students with real-time examples as we do in the classroom on a small whiteboard.
This document camera will allow me to write along with my students during writing time and provide examples on demand.
