Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am special education teacher for 30 high school students currently completing grade 10. I have to acknowledge that, despite best efforts, the majority have unsatisfactory study habits. Of course, this is reflected in their grades. Most find it difficult to sustain a consistent level of performance.

I have requested Sean Covey's "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens" books to serve as a basis for a new curriculum for my students' junior year.

I believe that they are capable of developing a stronger work ethic and the mindset that goes with it. I want to help them examine their attitudes toward work with the goal of developing positive habits that enable their success through high school and beyond.

I would like my students to see their junior year as a new beginning. The materials that I have requested in addition to the books will replenish our classroom and enable us begin the 2024-25 school year on a fresh, uplifting and positive note.
