My Students

My students range from third to fifth grade. They are full of excitement, love and laughter. During adaptive physical education class they work hard and enjoy playing new games, and learn from one another. My goal is to teach all of them how to ride a tricycle. Riding the tricycle would not only be super fun and great exercise, but it would also be a skill they could use later in life. Currently I see the kiddos twice a week for adaptive physical education and it would be awesome to surprise them with some new tricycles! They truly are awesome kids!

My Project

With the help of the tricycles I can begin to teach my students how to pedal and steer. They will be able to cruise around the gym, getting exercise and having fun. We are learning how to ride tricycles to eventually move onto bikes when they become ready. The kids are super excited to try new things and being able to teach them an independent skill like riding would be an awesome experience for everyone involved. The tricycles will be a class activity we can all learn and practice together during adapted physical education class. My goals of the project are for the students to learn how to ride, get exercise and gain independence.
