This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The last few years we have been implementing one-way dual language programs in our district. The program offers Spanish-speaking and bilingual students the opportunity to simultaneously attain both Spanish and English language proficiency through their entire schooling, achieving high levels of bilingualism, biliteracy and biculturalism.
I am in need of books in Spanish and English to read during our language arts and ELD time.
These books will provide our students with the opportunity to learn about diverse cultures, while acquiring both languages using cognates and studying language functions. It is also important that kids see themselves in classroom literature; when they relate to the books, it boosts their learning experience.
