Help me give my students a beautiful bridge across the digital divide with innovative digital lessons while supporting other teachers at the same time!
Our junior and senior high school students are simply stellar and rise above even when presented with difficult obstacles such as homelessness, poverty, and parenting themselves as well as their siblings. In grades 7th-12th, ages 12-21, my special needs students strive to succeed at transitioning into the community. The struggle is real as our home base is rural with few resources.
We are located in rural Southern Illinois, about an hour from Saint Louis, Missouri.
Our students are our family and we strive everyday to help them learn, grow, and change our world positively. Our mission is to help students with different abilities transition into the community to the greatest extent possible. We would like to raise them to be responsible adults who contribute to the community.
My Project
This pandemic year has brought about new changes in learning for both students and teachers. We are learning in a whole new way, at different times in different places. Right now we are teaching on a hybrid schedule with A and B students who come two days a week while other students are fully remote at home. However, we are soon preparing to have students return four days a week while others continue to be fully remote.
I would like to use Teachers Pay Teachers to help bridge the gap between in person learning and remote learning by using the cute and creative digital materials there.
These creative materials can easily be converted and uploaded from Teachers Pay Teachers to help students who are fully remote access the same materials as students who are in person. The second benefit to this is that it helps support other teachers financially. I believe this is a win-win situation.
