My Students

The key to learning is experiencing the content in as many ways as possible. My students delve into the learning process by experiencing material through all four of the core content areas. In doing so, they learn, remember, and enjoy the information that my team and I convey to them. As a result of this process we create life long learners who actually enjoy coming to their Language Arts classroom and as an effect, have more confidence and score better on mandated tests.

My Project

The Watsons Go to Birmingham will be used for a dual purpose. First, it will expose my students to award winning and relevant literature written by an African-American author. Second, it will coincide with a math unit in which students will need to budget their time and money for a trip, much like the Watson family does.

Simply, Shakespeare will give me the opportunity to expose my students to the works of William Shakespeare in a manner in which they will be able to understand as well as reinforce key time periods in history that are being covered in their Social Studies curriculum (ex.

Julius Caesar and the Roman Empire)
