Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach in a middle school located in New York City. We started a crochet club for our students after the pandemic to help them release their anxiety through creativity and giving back to the community. In previous years our students have made lap blankets for the local nursing home. They had the honor of walking there and giving the residents the beautiful lap blankets they made with their own hands. A truly amazing experience for our students.
Help us teach our students that kindness is the most valuable currency-giving to others makes a positive change in their community.
