My Students
As a special education teacher teaching students with Autism, I see students daily who are faced with several challenges, both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, my students are eager to learn both academics and life skills in order to create for themselves a better life.
My students are eager learners that enjoy learning about the world around them and being involved in everyday activities.
My students have all been identified with high functioning Autism and are learning to navigate in the world around them. They are very intelligent students, with several also being identified as gifted, who enjoy the things every 4th and 5th grader enjoys.
My Project
In my classroom, we have classroom pets that include hermit crabs and a bearded dragon. The students are learning to take care of these on a daily basis and are working to become independent in their ability to care for these creatures.
We need supplies that will help us to adequately care for our classroom bearded dragon.
The supplies that we are specifically asking for such as extra bedding mats, a walk in water bowl, adequate lighting with day and night timers, and food treats to name a few will allow us to make her comfortable and keep her cage clean and germ free.
